Sign up to learn how to crochet with Maddie This is a 2 hour class where you will learn the basics to start your Crochet journey with chains, single and double crochet stitches.
Learn the basics of knitting: knit, purl, cast on and bind off. This class is designed for first time knitters or those who need a refresher. Please stop by the shop before class and they will help you chose appropriate supplies.
Learn the basic foundations of Crochet - including the chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet.
ClassName: Sorrel Description:
Per the designer, “Sorrel is a cozy yet stylish sweater perfect for fall and winter! Knit top-down and seamlessly in the round, it features a yoke with richly textured linear dip stitches that create a unique and eye-catching design.
Sorrel is knit using one strand of sock yarn held with one strand of mohair silk lace. The reverse stockinette (purl side is right side) body is knit inside out, making it easy and enjoyable to work on without having to purl the entire time. Designed with customization in mind, Sorrel can be styled to your exact preference. Choose from 0”-6” of positive ease, cropped or full-length, and 3/4 length sleeves or long sleeves to make this sweater your own.”

Learn the basics of knitting lace from a chart knitting while making My Breezy Little Scarf by Lisa Hannes. We will discuss how to read a chart, chart symbols, lifelines, plus tips and tricks for keeping track and fixing common mistakes.
My Breezy Little Scarf is a long sideways-knit shawlette or scarf. You start knitting at one tip, then work your way across to the opposite tip, creating an elongated triangular shape by first increasing and then decreasing along one of the edges.
The pattern contains fully written as well as charted instructions The row numbering is the same on both versions. That way, you can work from the chart and also use the written as reference.

he Petra Polo is worked from the top down. First, the top part of the back yoke is worked with increases. Then the shoulders are worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the back yoke. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the sides of the shoulders so that all of the stitches for the yoke are now sitting on the circular needle together and can be worked back and forth, first with increases for the sleeves and then with raglan increases. The front plackets are worked in double knitting from stitches that are picked up and knitted before the body is worked in the round on the circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round on either double-pointed needles or on a circular needle using the Magic Loop technique, and they can either be made short or long. At the end, the collar is worked in tightly knit rib. The Petra Polo is closed with three buttons.

The Friday Slipover is worked from the top down in broken rib. First the back of the yoke is worked, then the shoulders, then the front of the yoke and finally the body. Rib edges are worked at the neck edge and along the armholes.

Our mothers (and their mothers) knew this sock by heart, with its vertical heel flap, turned heel, picked up gussets and grafted toe. For many of us, it’s the first sock we learned and our point of departure into the ever widening world of socks. While we love some of the new approaches, we return again and again to this straightforward, comfy basic. Once you understand its simple structure, improvise to your heart’s content.
